What 2025 Was Quietly Preparing You For: From the Year of the Snake into the Year of the Fire Horse

If last year felt strangely slow on the love front — like nothing was quite moving, no matter how much you wanted it to — you're not alone. And we'd gently offer this: it may not have been what it looked like.

What if 2025 wasn't a year when love was absent? What if it was a year when something necessary was happening underneath the surface?

In Chinese astrology, 2025 was the Year of the Snake. And the Snake, as it turns out, has a very specific job.

The Snake Doesn't Rush. It Refines.

The Snake is the most inward of all the zodiac signs. It doesn't make dramatic moves. It observes. It discerns. It sheds. In fact, shedding is its whole signature — the Snake releases what no longer fits so that what comes next can move freely.

Snake years ask hard, honest questions.

What am I still tolerating that I know doesn't work? What story about love am I telling myself that isn't actually true anymore? What kind of person have I been showing up as — and is that who I want to be now?

These aren't comfortable questions. But they're clarifying ones.

"Before bold action comes clarity. And clarity often comes through release.”

And here's something we come back to again and again in our Manifestationship® work: you cannot attract something new while you're still energetically anchored to the old. The Snake year was doing the releasing — whether you named it that or not.

Kim's Story: Three Friendships and a Quiet Reckoning

For me, the shedding was relational.

There were three friendships I had carried for years — long enough that they felt like family. I kept hoping they'd return to a place of balance and mutual gratitude. I kept telling myself that history meant something.

But history doesn't make something fit.

"History doesn't make something fit.”

Eventually, I had to be honest with myself. There was imbalance. Repeated frustration. A slow, quiet recognition that these dynamics no longer reflected who I am now — or who I want to be.

The letting go didn't come with blowups. It came with reflection. With grief. With tears and long conversations and a kind of honesty that was hard to arrive at.

And then — clarity.

What I didn't expect was what that clarity made room for.

Just before the holidays, Roger surprised me and asked me to marry him.

I don't think that was a coincidence. As I became clearer about who I am now — what feels aligned, what feels steady, what feels genuinely true — that next step in our relationship felt natural. Not forced. Not anxious. Natural.

"When you refine your life, what belongs in it becomes clearer."

You May Have Been Doing This Too

Here's what we want you to really hear — because this part matters.

If you spent 2025 wondering why love felt so far away, or why nothing was quite clicking, or why you felt more tired than hopeful... you may have been in the middle of your own quiet shedding without realizing it.

Maybe you stayed in situationships longer than you should have, and then finally — finally — let yourself admit they weren't going anywhere.

Maybe you noticed a pattern. The same kind of unavailable person showing up in a different face. The same dynamic playing out with a new name attached to it.

Maybe you pulled back from friendships or social situations that used to feel fine but now feel draining. Maybe you got quieter. More selective. Less willing to perform happiness you didn't feel.

"That's not stagnation. That's refinement.”

Maybe you started asking yourself a question you'd been avoiding: What do I actually want — not what I've been settling for, but what I truly want?

That question alone can feel destabilizing. But it's one of the most important questions you can ask.

In our work, we talk often about how what you attract is always a reflection of where you are energetically. And the Snake year had a way of surfacing that — not to make you feel stuck, but to help you see clearly. To make you less willing to accept what doesn't fit. To help you recognize the patterns that have been quietly running the show.

"You can't attract something new while you're still energetically anchored to the old.”

That recognition — uncomfortable as it may have been — is the work. And if it happened for you in 2025, even partially, even painfully: something in you was already preparing to move differently.

And Now the Fire Horse Arrives

Tomorrow, February 17th, marks the beginning of the Year of the Fire Horse — one of the rarest, most powerful years in the entire 60-year Chinese zodiac cycle. Bold. Fast. Electric. Passionate. The Fire Horse is also called the Red Horse — fire in Chinese culture is associated with the color red, with luck, with life force.

The Horse runs full speed ahead.

But imagine trying to run at full speed while still dragging old skin behind you.

It wouldn't work.

"The shedding had to happen first.”

Right before the new year, I also got a new car. My old one was 13 years old with 140,000 miles — reliable, but slow. It putzed along. And without consciously connecting it to what was coming, I knew something: I didn't want anything slowing me down anymore.

No unnecessary drag. No old weight. Clear path ahead.

That's exactly the energy the Fire Horse is calling for.

And for those of us who are ready for love — really ready, not just hoping but ready — this is a year that rewards exactly that.

A Question to Sit With

Before we move into everything the Fire Horse has in store — and there is so much to share — we'd love you to pause and ask yourself:

What quietly ended for me in 2025? What did I finally admit wasn't working? What did I release — even if it hurt?

And then: What might I have been making space for?

Please hare with us in the comments. We’d love to know.

Next week, we go deeper into the Fire Horse energy itself — and what it means specifically for love in 2026.

"The Snake gave you clarity. The Horse gives you wings. The question is — are you ready to run?"

With love and a clear path ahead,
